Jennifer Grassman is an award winning sing-songwriter, pianist, and recording artist. Her piano music has been compared to the works of Eric Satie, Chopin, Tori Amos, Vienna Teng, Kate Bush, and Danny Elfman. Her voice has been compared to that of Loreena McKennitt, Celtic Woman, Tarja Turunen, Amy Lee of Evanescence, Sarah McLachlan, and Sarah Brightman.

The majority of Grassman's songs are inspired by classic literature, including books like At The Back Of The North Wind by George MacDonald, The Chronicles of Narnia and Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis, The Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, and timeless who-done-its by Agatha Christie and her famous sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Grassman has even been inspired by classic films, such as Rear Window by Alfred Hitchcock, The Wizard Of Oz, and Casablanca.

A budding novelist and poet herself, Grassman looks forward to unveiling some exciting new writing projects she's undertaken, including a fantasy novel rumored to involve some very nasty dragons. As a freelance writer and music journalist for The Washington Times Communities, Grassman has interviewed Imogen Heap, Aimee Mann, Mandisa, Matt Smith of the band Theocracy, Matthew West, Brian Ray (of the Paul McCartney band), and a host of other notable artists, producers, and music industry executives.

The Houston Press reviews The Bedroom Door Music Video

March 2, 2012 by Jef Withonef --
Jennifer Grassman has a voice like an angel. This is not meant as a compliment. "Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell," someone said. It might've been Shakespeare, or it might have been Kain.

The point is that the voice of an angel is an agent of the Word, and though sometimes the Word is Salvation, Love, or Comfort, other times it is Death, Pain and Loss. The video for Grassman's song "Bedroom Door," directed her sister Kaitlin, speaks in a voice of incomprehensible sorrow echoing infinitely in all linearities from her sepia-toned point of origin.

 UPCOMING CONCERTS

On Monday, February 13 at 7:00 PM (the evening before Valentine’s Day) Jennifer will be performing alongside celebrated guitarist John Carney at Dosey Does in The Woodlands. This will be John’s last concert before he moves back to Panama, so we are very honored to be joining him!  Jennifer will be accompanied by world-class violinist, Josh Smith, during “The Promise” (a love song she wrote for her husband, Jason Greenberg). Click here for concert details.

 FEBRUARY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sign up for Jennifer’s email newsletter now through February 14 (Valentine’s Day) and get a free download of “The Promise,” the love song Jennifer wrote for her husband, Jason. (Guys, it will make a great romantic gift! *hint! hint!*).

For all our creative and geeky friends, Jennifer is launching an exciting new project this month called SeeTalkGrow. SeeTalkGrow is a 100% Online Music, Film, Technology, and Communications Industry Conference that happens all year-round. Jennifer was inspired late last year, when she had the sudden realization that since she is now pregnant, she’s not likely to be trouncing around SXSW or any other festival grounds any time soon. So, she thought up a fun and innovative way to host a festival online, with all the educational and networking value of a physical conference!

The first SeeTalkGrow event is a Songwriting Workshop with Connie Mims, on Friday, February 17, 12/noon CST. For more details and events you can visit the brand new website, www.SeeTalkGrow.com. We would love to hear what you think of the concept and the site!

Don’t forget to download “The Promise,” our gift to you this Valentine’s Day.  Have a lovely rest of the week, a peaceful weekend, and a happy holiday!

Guess Who's Expecting?

Great news! Jennifer Grassman and her husband of five years, Jason Greenberg, are expecting their first child on August 25, 2012.

Jennifer has written a cute piece describing the day they found out the big news, and her baby-centric New Year's resolutions at The Washington Times Communities.  Enjoy!

We'll be posting more details and photos soon!
